it's official (in my mind at least). this is the best of the five winters i've spent out here. another 18cm last night. the snow banks are so high i can no longer see out my living room window. and it keeps on puking. we're talking powder here, not the cement that is typical of whistler. will be heading up shortly to get my share...

stormin' pretty good up there today, but it seemed like more wind than snow. still, 15cm had fallen by this afternoon, so there was plenty of powder to be found especially since not many braved the elements. lots of bumps, and a few unpleasant lumps, but overall pretty nice snow in the trees. alpine was closed - even mid-mountain lifts were running at half speed. should make for some great riding tomorrow once they get everything going.
looks like we're setting up for a big snow week!

took a rare venture up on a sunday to find it quite busy as expected. even lesser flute was heavily tracked, although i managed to find some untouched snow at the far end of the ridge. low slope riding though, nothing too exciting.
pet peeve of the day: large groups of skiers who ski side by side taking up the entire width of the cat track. get out of the freakin way already!
alternate pet peeve of the day: on startup, firefox always asks if you want to start new session or restore previous session. where's the damn "use this answer every time" check box!?

yet another powder day. nothing huge, but the cumulative effect has left us with soft snow everywhere. visibility was terrible in the alpine so we had to stick to the trees as much as possible. found some beauty snow in xmas trees, then had a bit of an adventure after missing a cut-off in million$ ridge. just ended up on the logging road though, so now i've got lots more terrain to explore.
