five day forecast
i forgot to mention the other day that the lower peak to creek run opened on saturday - meaning the mountain is officially 100% open. better late than never i suppose.
we got a nice 10cm dusting on sunday night, and while this doesn't add up to much in bounds, the slow accumulation and relatively cold alpine temps have been improving back country conditions out here. the snow pack seems to have stabilized so for those who are willing to work for them, there are good turns to be found out of bounds. just stay above treeline!

Thinking of heading up this weekend for 2 days of skiing, first time this year. Heard conditions are average at best. Any ratings for the last few days and prediction for Friday/Saturday? Would be most helpful, keep up the good work on the site!
Finally, a snow report I can trust. Thanks, Mark.
Although, I'm terribly bummed that you're having the worst season in years. I haven't been to Whistler in five years, but I'm booked for the first week of March. It better change fast. I'm a Torontonian who refuses to ski out east. This means I spend the entire winter depressed with the exception of the one week a year I spend skiing out west. This year I chose to return to Whistler, which could mean that I spend the entire winter depressed seeing as the snow is crap. Noooooooo. Somebody do something fast to fix this mess.
Oh, and for the record, I'm already sick of the Olympics. I can't believe we have to suffer through 365 more days of Olympic lead-up. The Globe has been running an Olympic preview every day since Saturday. Who the eff cares?!
Hey guys - glad to know someone is actually reading this...
mike, looking like all sun for the next few days. i haven't been up in a looong time, but i'm heading up today and will report.
ganstown, i feel your pain. i used to be a torontonian myself. after years of spending $3000 a winter travelling out west for 10 days of riding i finally decided i'd rather LIVE out here and spend $1000 a year travelling back to ontario to visit friends and family. the year i moved out here i told myself no matter what happens, it'll be the best winter of my life. make the move man, you'll never regret it.
